Alvin Bunis entered into eternal rest on 3/31/23 after battling a 9/11/01 related cancer. Born 4/15/57 to Melvin and Helen Bunis in Port Jervis, N.Y. he was raised in Rockland County, N.Y.
Alvin is predeceased in death by his parents Helen and Melvin Bunis. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, heartbroken son Sean Max and Sean’s mom Kate. He is also survived by a large, loyal, loving extended family including Aunt Flo, Uncle Danny, Aunt Joan, Cousin Greg (Cheryl) Iberger and numerous other caring first cousins. He will be greatly missed by all.
Alvin started his career with the NYPD in January 1982 and retired after 20 years of dedicated service, having worked in the 52nd pct and NYPD Harbor Unit.Upon retirement he relocated to Monticello N.Y. where he spent time with many great friends. His hobbies included: boating on the lake, quad rides on the trails, tinkering with his classic mustang and always working on a new project.
In lieu of flowers Alvin had asked for donations to the following charity: New York Blood Center-Hudson Valley Blood Services Elmsford NY.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 SR97, Barryville, NY 12719 845-557-8010
