HIGH FALLS – An eight-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition at Westchester Medical Center after being attacked by a two-year-old pit bull at a residence on Kyserike Road in High Falls, State Police said.
The child suffered head and neck injuries.
The August 28 incident also included a 39-year-old woman, who sustained serious injuries to her right hand. She was also taken to the hospital.
When police and EMS personnel arrived on the scene, the dog attempted to attack them, so the trooper shot the animal as it presented a threat to everyone at the scene, police said.
