NEWBURGH – The Shot Spotter alert system in Newburgh did its job for a second time this week with activation of shots being fired in the city.
This time, minutes after midnight Thursday morning, gunshots were reported in the area of 123 Chambers Street with several shell casings located in the area.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or any suspects apprehended.
City police are investigating that incident as well as another at around 11 p.m. Tuesday in the area of DuBois and Van Ness streets.
It was unknown if both cases were related.
