WALDEN – This spring and summer’s weather was ideal for apple farmers and Jeff Crist, owner of Crist Orchards in Walden says his farm is no exception.

He expects a good harvest this fall.  “This season has been quite a bit more desirable in the crop development because we did not have the freeze in the spring, in late May, that we did last year and caused a lot of damage,” he said.

Crist grows his apple crop on 650 acres.

He also grows the apples for Angry Orchard hard cider, which purchased a portion of his farm for its growing and production facilities.
