HURLEY – The Town of Hurley’s new supervisor, Mike Boms, was sworn in at a town hall ceremony on New Year’s Day.
Boms, who served as a town councilman until now, took the oath of office along with new Town Councilwoman Diana Cline, returning Councilman Gregory Simpson and returning Town Justice Roy Hochberg.
Returning Town Justice John Parker, who presided over Monday’s ceremony, was sworn in for his own new term just before the start of the new year, as was new Councilwoman Debra Dougherty, appointed on December 27 to succeed Jana Martin, who stepped down about a month ago.
Boms defeated Town Supervisor Melinda McKnight by 30 votes in the November election.
