TOWN OF ULSTER – A Bronx man has been arrested by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation involving wire fraud and bank scams.

Just before 1 p.m. on May 24, sheriff’s detectives and special agents from the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations responded to Trustco Bank in the Town of Ulster after receiving information that Justice Amoh, 34, was at the bank withdrawing money from a fraudulent account linked to illegal wire fraud, money scams, and bank scams.

Police said he had presented a false identification card and other forged documents to bank employees during his transaction.

When he left the bank with the money, he was approached by the law enforcement officials and falsely identified himself.

Amoh was arrested and charged with two felony counts of forgery, criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal impersonation.

Police seized the cash as the investigation remains ongoing.

Amoh was released with an appearance ticket returnable to Ulster Town Justice Court at a later date.
