GOSHEN – A 32-year-old Goshen man pled guilty in Orange County Court on Monday to a rape charge which will get him 15 years in state prison when sentenced in August.

Jesus Torres entered the plea before Judge Craig Stephen Brown. As part of the sentence, he will also face 10 years of post-release supervision and will be registered as a sex offender.

Torres admitted that he engaged in sex with another person under the age of 13 while he was over 18 years of age.

District Attorney David Hoovler called the crime “unthinkable” and he commended “the bravery of the survivor in this case, who is forced to live every day with the consequences of these barbaric acts.”
