Roving brawls busted by cops in Ellenville

ELLENVILLE – Three fights in Ellenville Saturday night were all connected and resulted in the arrests of two people.

The first took place around 6 p.m. on Church Street, the second an hour later on Center Street, and the third at about 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Village Motel. About 10 to 15 people were involved, Ellenville Police said.

Video from the scene showed several people armed with baseball bats and knives. 

Police regained control after about 10 to 15 minutes with the use of pepper spray.

Police arrested Jordan Coffey, 23, and Theodore Leeboo, 31, both of Ellenville, and both were charged with possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct.

They were each released on appearance tickets returnable to the local court.

The investigation is continuing.
