SLATE HILL – A wrong-way driver on Interstate 84 in the Town of Wawayanda was killed in a crash just before noon on Friday.
State Police said a car was headed eastbound in the westbound lanes.
The driver ended up crashing head-on into another vehicle.
Both cars ended up in the center median.
Troopers said the wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
Westbound traffic on I-84 was diverted on to the shoulder.
State Police are investigating.
