NEW CITY – A State Supreme Court justice has extended and reaffirmed the temporary restraining order against the City of New York’s shelter program as it applies to Rockland County.

“This extension continues to prohibit the city from transforming hotels and motels in the County of Rockland into shelters,” said County Executive Ed Day.

The judge also o0redered that the Armoni Inn & Suites in Nanuet can only operate as a hotel for normal business, as it had in the past, and cannot operate as a shelter as New York City had intended.

Day noted violation of the order could subject the hotel and the City of New York to contempt of court.
