Crash between car and truck sends woman to hospital

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A 62-year-old New Windsor woman was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center following a crash between her 2008 Infinity and a 2002 FRT tractor-trailer.

The 11:15 a.m. accident on Thursday occurred at the intersection of Routes 52 and 300 in the Town of Newburgh.

Town police said the preliminary investigation shows the Infinity was traveling westbound on Route 52, passed a red light, and crashed with the truck.

Police are continuing to investigate and asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the detective division of Newburgh Town Police at 845-564-1100.

Assisting police at the scene were Winona Lake and Orange Lake fire departments, Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps and State Police.
