Two Liberty men arrested for burglary and weapons possession

VILLAGE OF LIBERTY – Two Village of Liberty men have been arrested after they allegedly entered a residence on Chestnut Street in the early morning hours of May 23 and assaulted and threatened a resident with a gun and fled.

The two suspects were known to the victim.

Village police investigated and arrested Luis Murillo, 34, and Luis Soto-Bourdon, 50, later in the morning.

Also recovered was a realistic-looking BB gun.

Murillo was charged with one count of burglary and two counts of assault. He was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail n lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 secured bond or $40,000 partially secured bond. Soto-Bourdon was charged with two counts of burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and assault.

He was also remanded to the county jail in lieu of the same bail.
