Roscoe man arrested for driving car stolen from trooper barracks

FALLSBURG – A 22-year-old Roscoe man was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of bail after he was stopped while driving on Route 42 in South Fallsburg during a seatbelt enforcement for the Buck Up New York campaign.

A DMV check revealed the 2013 Toyota Camry had been stolen from the State Police barracks and that he had a suspended driver’s license.

Further investigation revealed that Marc Santiago possessed a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun without a permit and a quantity of ecstasy.

Santiago was charged by Town of Fallsburg Police with criminal possession of a weapon, drug possession, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He was remanded in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $20,000 in bond.
