Body recovered from Hannacroix Preserve

TOWN OF NEW BALTIMORE – Authorities recovered a body found face down in the Hannacroix Creek in the Town of New Baltimore.

Hikers discovered the victim at around 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. They called 911 and forest rangers assisted Greene County Sheriff’s deputies and the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire Department in the recovery of the body.

The victim, described only as a 55-year-old, was driven by UTV about three-quarters of a mile to the trailhead, where it was turned over to the coroner.
