POUGHKEEPSIE – City police and fire personnel responded to a report of a man’s dead body under the Mid-Hudson Bridge along Route 9 in Poughkeepsie on Monday. City 911 received a call reporting the body just after 12:00 noon.
It took a few minutes for the first responders to physically locate the man. Once they found the remains, crime scene technicians and detectives examined the scene.
The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office arrived to remove the body at approximately 1:45 p.m. The office will conduct an autopsy in an effort to determine the cause of death.
A source close to the investigation has told Mid-Hudson News that the death appears to be the result of a drug overdose.
