KINGSTON – The City of New York has bused hundreds of asylum seekers to hotels in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, and Sullivan Counties.

To date, none have been sent to Ulster County.

Kingston Mayor Steven Noble said he has had no communication about locating migrants to his city, but noted it is a welcoming community.

“We have always welcomed folks into our community and I think we have some great organizations that have supported everyone coming into Kingston over the last decade, but for now we haven’t been in touch with anyone related to the most recent crisis,” he told Mid-Hudson News.

New York City send its first two busloads of migrants to Dutchess County on Sunday.
