MILLBROOK-  The Millbrook Arts Group is pleased to present the second edition of poetryline, a public art project that features a collection of contemporary poetry throughout the Village of Millbrook in celebration of National Poetry Month.  The Millbrook Arts Group has designed more than 50 graphic window panels that will be placed in storefronts and restaurants throughout the business district and on the edge of town.

The poets featured appear courtesy of Four Way Books, a non-profit literary press based in NYC, publishing poetry and short fiction of emerging and established writers.  The publisher is dedicated to producing and promoting excellent literary publications and to creating opportunities for writers of
merit.  Represented authors have been recipients of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, the Kingsley Tufts
Poetry Award, the Rome Prize, and many other honors. Featured poetryline author, Cynthia Cruz,
was the 2023 recipient of the National Book Critics Circle award for poetry.  Local poet and Director
of Four Way Press, Ryan Murphy says, “It is an honor to share the work of these authors with my
community.”

Authors include:  Cynthia Cruz, Carlie Hoffman, Eugenia Leigh, Jen Levitt, Nathan McClain, Yesenia Montilla, James Fujinami Moore, Ryan Murphy, Victoria Redel, Glenis Redmond, Rob Schlegel and Soren Stockman.

In addition to poetryline, the Millbrook Arts Group has partnered with the Millbrook Library and area
schools to present the Tribute Garden Poetry Walk, which will feature more than 30 poems written
and illustrated by local young poets.

The Merritt Bookstore will be hosting adult and children’s One Hour Haiku Workshops and an Open
Mic Poetry Day.  The Millbrook Library will also be hosting an Open Mic Night and a Hudson Valley
Writers Workshop.  In addition, poems by 3rd grade students from Alden Place will be displayed at the
library and community members young and old can stop by to hang their own verses from the
branches of the “poet-tree” display.

April 12 – Open Mic Night at the Millbrook Library, 6:00 p.m.
Come with any writing– poetry, short story, essay, creative nonfiction, manifesto, screed, or even a guitar and song. Readers will read on a first-come basis, so sign up on the library website early to ensure a slot!
