Westchester Executive George Latimer

MOUNT VERNON – In the wake of Long Island Congressman George Santos’ repeated lies about his past personal history, Westchester County now has a local law to prevent that from happening in that county.

County Executive George Latimer Thursday signed legislation adopted unanimously by the board of legislators requiring truthful disclosure by candidates, unlike what Santos has done.  “This may be the most egregious example of a public office holder having lied. We can say mistruths, misrepresent, he lied, and he lied repeatedly,” Latimer said.

The new county law applies to candidates for the board of legislators and county executive.
