Rockland has lowest unemployment rate in region

ALBANY – Rockland County, with a 3.0 percent rate of unemployment, registered the lowest level in the region in February, the State Labor Department reported on Tuesday.

Putnam County, with 3.2 percent unemployment came in second with Columbia, Dutchess and Westchester all registering 3.3 percent joblessness.

Orange County scored 3.4 percent, followed by Ulster at 3.5 percent, Sullivan County at 3.6 percent, Greene County at 4.0 percent and Delaware County at 4.5 percent.

The unemployment rate for the Hudson Valley in February was 3.3

Percent.

February joblessness rates in all counties were below the same month last year.
