GOSHEN – A Newburgh man pled guilty in Orange County Court on Monday to assault for allegedly shooting his wife in the head five times at close range with a BB gun causing BBs to become lodged in her head.
Steven Lillo, 39, also allegedly shot the victim once in the hand and repeatedly pistol-whipped her causing lacerations to her forehead.
The couple’s seven-year-old child observed part of the assault and called the police.
Lillo pled guilty immediately before a trial was to begin. He faces up to seven years in prison when sentenced in July.
The Town of Newburgh Police investigated the incident.
