Man ticketed for wrong-way crash on Thruway

GREENBURGH – The drivers of two vehicles were injured when one was driving the wrong way on the Thruway in Greenburgh, State Police said.

The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 when Juan Sinchim, 38, of Port Chester, was driving northbound in the southbound passing lane and collided with the other vehicle, troopers said.

Sinchim was taken into custody and transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries., The other driver was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sinchim was released from the hospital and charged with driving while intoxicated, issued a court appearance ticket, and released to a sober party.
