NEW WINDSOR – Clarence Hulzenga, 47, has been arrested by New Windsor Police on charges stemming from a March 18th burglary on Barberry Lane in the town.  He is charged with felony burglary and grand larceny along with misdemeanor petit larceny.

According to New Windsor Police Chief Daniel Valeri, his officers responded to the burglary on March 18, 2023, and determined that several items had been removed from the premises, including a motor vehicle.  The stolen vehicle was located by City of Poughkeepsie police officers on March 20, 2023, in the Corlies Manor apartment complex.  The vehicle was unoccupied but a woman approached the officers and indicated that she had been a passenger in the vehicle but did not know the location of the driver, identified as Hulzenga.  New Windsor police detectives were notified and traveled to Poughkeepsie to recover the stolen vehicle.

On March 22, 2023, police located Hulzenga in the City of Newburgh and he was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.  The Town of Newburgh police assisted in the apprehension of the alleged burglar.

The suspect was arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Justice Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
