Community activist announces run for Kingston mayor

KINGSTON – The founder and current executive director of My Kingston Kids has announced his intention of running for mayor of the City of Kingston.

Frank Waters said he has the endorsement of the Working Families Party and will be challenging incumbent Democratic Mayor Steven Noble.

Waters’ campaign describes him as having “a tremendous amount of interagency/inter-organizational planning and collaboration; understands how calls for bids are handled, and a grasp of governmental rules, regulations, and transparency, gained from experience in several organizations and boards.”

Waters was previously executive director of Kingston Midtown Rising and now serves on the board, is on the city committee of ant Anti-Displacement Learning Network and a member of Harambee Kingston.

He also said he has extensive event planning for extremely large events in Harlem before coming to Kingston.
