Four-time felon caught with drugs above Trolley Barn

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Thursday morning search warrant at an apartment above the Trolley Barn on Main Street in Poughkeepsie resulted in the arrests of Tylor Mix, a 50-year-old four-time felon, and Jeanine Carpenter, age 46.  Both were charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance after an investigation into drug activity on the 500 block of Main Street by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU).

On March 16, 2023, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department executed a search warrant at the apartment above the Trolley Barn at 489 Main Street. The building is right next door to the City of Poughkeepsie Public Safety Building which houses a fire station and serves as a police department substation.

A quantity of crack cocaine, US currency, and packaging materials was seized, along with two vehicles.   Both Mix and Carpenter were transported to police headquarters where they were booked and held for arraignment.

Mix has prior felony convictions for attempted murder, forgery, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and forgery.
