Newburgh man charged with sexual conduct with a child

NEWBURGH – The State Police Child Abuse Unit in Orange County has arrested a 22-year-old City of Newburgh man regarding a report that he engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 17.

The arrest, in conjunction with Orange County Child Protective Services, led to charges lodged against Jamarr Smith.

He was booked on charges of use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting a sexual performance by a child, possession of a sexual performance by a child, rape, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.

State Police are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Smith, also known as Jay, Sheesh Dior, or Dirty Dior, to contact them at 845-291-2836 of the Middletown barracks at 845-344-5300.
