SUFFERN – The long-running hunting, fishing, and boating show, the “World Fishing and Outdoor Expo” is no longer taking place at Rockland Community College (RCC) in Suffern.  The 2023 show, scheduled for March 2nd through March 5th this year has been canceled due to limits imposed on exhibitors, according to the promoters.

The show is one of the largest in the northeast and has been held at the college for many years.  According to the promoter, Sportshows, LLC, the show is moving to a location one hour south of Rockland in Edison, New Jersey and will be held at the end of February 2024.

“Restrictions on certain exhibitor categories allowed at the college over the past 10-15 years have resulted in a much more limited show,” according to the show’s website.  Citing the issues caused by the pandemic, the promoter also said “Covid further impacted our ability to deliver a quality show at RCC delaying our restart.”

The World Fishing & Outdoor Expo will be relocated to the New Jersey Convention and Exhibition Center in 2024.

The website says the move is a benefit to attendees.  “This move allows us to fully welcome hunting and firearm displays back into the show, delivers abundant free parking, with a supportive and larger venue that will allow us to deliver the highest quality fishing, hunting, and outdoor show in the New York Metro market,” while adding “We thank you for all the great memories and will miss Suffern but are excited for the future.”
