POUGHKEEPSIE – On Monday at 7:00 a.m., iHeartMedia Hudson Valley NY’s WRNQ (Q92.1) launched the next chapter of the Q92 Morning Show as Albany Area Senior Vice-president of Programming, Chris Marino, was back on Q92 as the new morning host along with his co-host Marissa Contelmo to begin broadcasting as the “Marino in the Morning with Marissa Show”.

“Chris has established deep roots these last 16 years in the Hudson Valley. He spent 6 years in afternoons on Q92 …and we’re excited to continue the story that is the Q92 Morning Show for the amazing listeners in our community,” said iHeartMedia Hudson Valley Market President Rob VanDerbeck.  He also said “As a successful “80s to Now” upbeat variety station, we now have a morning show that reflects that brand between Chris who grew up with that awesome music, and his co-host Marissa, who brings that Gen Z perspective each morning.  The two of them will continue the morning relationship we’ve built with our community of loyal Q92 Hudson Valley fans.“

“It’s sort of fulfilling a destiny in that when Joe Daily retired from mornings on Q92 in 2019 the plan was that I would move from afternoons to mornings,” Marino said.  However, later that year, Anne Marie Leamy from WPLJ became available and was brought back to her first station – Q92.   Leamy has moved to a New York City station, giving Marino the chance to co-host the Q92 morning show; Marino in the Morning with Marissa.

The Marino in the Morning with Marissa show will feature daily headlines from Mid-Hudson News, along with segments from gossip reporter Mike Post and Promotion Director (of Free Stuff) Felicia Kirschner.

In addition to Q92, Marino will continue for the month of March holding down afternoons on sister country station WRWD as the 33rd  annual St. Jude Radiothon is happening on March 24th and 25th, which he hosts.  After the radiothon, Marino will focus his energy on Q92 and his current duties as the Albany area Senior Vice-president of Programming.
