TOWN OF GOSHEN – Route 17 was shut down in both directions for a while at mid-morning on Saturday when a natural gas main ruptured under the overpass at Arcadia Road in the Town of Goshen.
Goshen and Chester fire departments responded to the scene along with the State Police.
New York State Electric and Gas responded to seal leak.
The highway and overpass were reopened once the leak was plugged, said Orange County Fire Coordinator Vini Tankasali.
There has been no word from NYSEG as to why the line leaked or the repairing of it.
