Middletown Police arrest two in Park Circle shooting

MIDDLETOWN – One day after a man was shot in the area of 203-211 North Street, Park Circle, in the City of Middletown, police had one suspect in custody.

The victim was treated and released at Garnett Health Medical Center.

Through investigation, police arrested Naajib Jackson on December 22, 2022 on charges of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He remains in the Orange County Jail pending prosecution.

As detectives continued their investigation, they identified an accomplice, Wayne Lewis, who was located and arrested on January 19 in Newark, New Jersey with the assistance of the US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault and drug possession.

Lewis in currently being extradited to Orange County.

On January Middletown detectives and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group, executed a search warrant at 4 Prospect Street, which resulted in recovery of a .22 caliber revolver, ammunition and crack cocaine.
