KINGSTON –  Ulster County Court Judge Bryan Rounds, Thursday, dropped a murder charge against State Trooper Christopher Baldner in the death of 11-year-old Monica Goods, following a car chase on the Thruway.

The judge did leave charges of manslaughter and three counts of reckless endangerment against the 44-year-old Baldner.

It was on December 28, 2020 that Baldner, while in his police car, chased the Goods van driven by the child’s father, which was occupied by four people, including Monica.

He collided with the vehicle several times with the child being thrown from it.
