CATSKILL – Any motor vehicle which has three or more tickets issued under Village of Catskill law that are outstanding for more than 45 days may “get the boot” prohibiting the use of the motor vehicle.

In addition to the outstanding tickets, the car owner would be charged a $250 boot removal fee, village police said.

Any individual who tampers with or removes a boot on any vehicle without authorization of the village will be guilty of a violation and subject to a fine of not more than $250 or 15 days in jail.

The police department says anyone with unpaid parking tickets should immediately contact the village clerk’s office at (518) 943-3830 and pay their outstanding fines.
