State prison inmate sentenced for killing cellmate

CATSKILL – A Greene Correctional Facility prisoner has been sentenced to 17 years to life for strangling his cellmate to death back on November 8, 2018.

Anthony Paradise, 44, pled guilty to murder in Greene County Court on the third day of jury selection on October 20, 2022 for killing Delmus Tanner by strangulation with a bed sheet.

At the time of the incident, Paradise was serving a sentence for a prior robbery conviction.

After an investigation by the State Police, State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and the Greene County District Attorney’s Office, Paradise was indicted on April 19, 2019.
