Unemployment remains low in Mid-Hudson region

ALBANY – December 2022 unemployment rates in many Hudson Valley/Catskills counties fell below the regional rate of 2.5 percent.

The regional rate was down from the 2.8 percent rate in December 2021.

Both Columbia and Rockland counties, at opposite ends of the greater region, experienced the lowest December rate at 2.3 percent.

Those were followed by Putnam County at 2.4 percent, Dutchess and Westchester at 2.5 percent, Ulster and Orange County at 2.6 percent, Sullivan Co0unty at 2.8 percent, and Greene Co0unty at 3.0 percent, and Delaware County at 2.8 percent.

All counties with the exception of Delaware experienced lower unemployment in December 2022 than in the same month one year earlier.
