GOSHEN – An Orange County grand jury has indicted a 39-year-old Newburgh man on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon for illegally possessing a loaded firearm in that city.

District Attorney David Hoover said it is alleged that around 10 a.m. on December 30, 2022, Antoine Ford was outside in the vicinity of 233 Broadway when he possessed the .45 caliber pistol, which he aimed at another person.

Ford is being held in the county jail on $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 secured bond or $100,000 partially secured bond.

“The residents of the City of Newburgh should not have to tolerate anyone brazenly brandishing an illegally possessed and dangerous weapon on their streets in broad daylight,” said Hoovler. “My office will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to prosecute those who illegally possess firearms.”
