Mike Colvin.

Michael John Colvin of Poughkeepsie, NY, born August 10, 1969, took his last official gig in heaven dying peacefully on January 21, 2023, after a long battle with a debilitating autoimmune disorder.

Born in Peekskill, Michael was the son of Frank and Judith Colvin. Michael later moved to Wappingers Falls attending local schools including Dutchess Community College, earning an associate’s degree, and his beloved alma mater, John Jay High School. His high school community and friends remained close by his side throughout his life and especially his end-stage journey.

Michael was a lifelong DJ and owner of Mad Mike and Friends DJ Service, kicking his career off at “The Dungeon” and with WEOK as a young teen, continuing on with many various stations over the years. He was most known for his long-standing career on WPDH’s morning show where his passions for music, radio, impersonations, satire, and most of all, making people laugh came together and brought joy to not only him but so many Hudson Valley residents. In the past two decades, Michael also headed up the entertainment at Mahoney’s Irish Pub hosting karaoke and dancing as well as numerous benefits and fundraisers.

Michael was a dedicated sports fan wearing any team jersey, although he loved his Yankees and Giants most. He also knew everything about the Beatles and Beach boys and was a member of many fan groups. In recent years Mike started “The Colvin Brothers Show” with his best friend and little brother Stephen on Z93 and podcast form. More than anything else, he loved his daughter Bryce and lived every day for her.

Michael is survived by his amazing daughter Bryce and wife Heather Colvin. He is also survived by his brothers Stephen Colvin and wife Kristen, Carolyn Marie DeBernardi and husband Dino, and brother-in-law Christopher DeRasmo. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Jennifer DeRasmo and brother Christopher Colvin. In addition to his immediate family, he will also be loved and missed by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 26 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his Go Fund Me fund in order to alleviate funeral costs and future planning for his young daughter.
