Retiring Mount Hope Police Chief Paul Rickard

MOUNT HOPE – Paul Rickard has served as police chief in the Town of Mount Hope for the last 10 years and now he has announced he will retire next month.

Prior to his service in Mount Hope, he retired from a career in the Middletown City Police Department where he left with the position of lieutenant.

His career is all about serving the community and the chief said the Mount Hope department has come a long way during his tenure thanks the members of the force.

“Since that time the police department has achieved many great things from the many different infrastructure improvements to the hiring and policy advancements, I am very proud of what we have accomplished,” he said. “When I accepted this position, I did it to serve the community I live in and love, and I have done that every day since. In the good days and bad, it was all done in the service to the community.”

Rickard leaves his position as president of the Orange County Association of Police Chiefs.
