Update… Attic fire in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – Firefighters in the City of Newburgh responded to a reported attic fire in a two-story residence at 198 Overlook Place.

First responders were on the scene shortly after 1:30 p.m. West Point and Stewart Air National Guard fire departments were called in under mutual aid.

One occupant was reported to have been transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The city’s fire inspection team determined the cause to be electrical in nature.
