POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Bill O’Neill has appointed Assistant County Executive Rachel Kashimer as deputy county executive.
In her new role, she will serve as chief of staff supervising the county executive’s senior staff who oversee the administration of all departments under the executive branch of county government.
County Legislature Chairman Gregg Pulver called Kashimer “a true asset to Dutchess County Government.”
In 2021, she focused on COVID operations supervising the county’s response to the epidemic.
The 31-year-old Kashimer, who has been with the county for 12 years, lives in the Town of Wappinger with her husband, David, and their three-year-old son Henry.
