WARWICK – After 21 years of service to the Town of Warwick, Supervisor Michael Sweeton announced on Wednesday that he will not seek reelection this fall.

The popular public official cited the many accomplishments during his tenure from zoning to protect from overdevelopment, to building a transportation center, a senior center, creating new parks, and transforming the former Mid-Orange Correctional Facility into a corporate park that has seen over $200 million in investment with hundreds of new job opportunities.

“Together we have survived natural disasters, a deep recession and a pandemic, immerging stronger and more resilient each time,” Sweeton said.

“Our partnership with all three of our villages has never been stronger ands together we have forged a shared vision for moving our community forward,” he said. “My administration has done all of this while maintaining our position as having the lowest town tax rate of any community in Orange County that provides police services.”
