NEW CITY – A 21-year-old Spring Valley woman died Thursday night at Westchester Medical Center after being struck by a car while on Route 304 in New City, Clarkstown Police said.
Police found the woman, identified as Keptia Fara Brutus laying in the center lane of southbound Route 304 at around 5:10 p.m. on Thursday.
She was treated at the scene and transported by EMS to the hospital where she was pronounced dead later that evening, according to police.
The driver remained on the scene and displayed no signs of impairment, police said.
The Clarkstown Police Department Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and performed an investigation resulting in a portion of Route 304 being closed for hours.
