State provides funding for supportive housing

ALBANY – Ten agencies in the Hudson Valley will receive state funding through the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative that will allow them to secure separate capital funding to finance housing projects.

The conditional awards for services and operating expenses are contingent on a project securing the means for new construction, the adaptive reuse of non-residential property, or the rehabilitation of unregulated residential property to create integrated affordable supportive housing.

The agencies to receive the funding include:

  • Hudson River Housing, Inc. (three awards)
  • Mental Health America of Dutchess County, Inc.
  • PEOPLe: Projects to Empower and Organize the Psychiatrically Labeled, Inc.
  • The Newburgh Ministry, Inc.
  • Safe Harbors of the Hudson Valley, Inc.
  • Search for Change, Inc.
  • RUPCO, Inc.
  • Community Housing Innovations, Inc.
  • The Mental Health Association of Westchester, Inc.
  • Search for Change, Inc.
