Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro delivers his farewell address

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro has formally submitted his letter of resignation to County Clerk Brad Kendall.

Molinaro, who has been county executive for 11 years, is stepping down to become the congressman representing New York’s new 19th District.

His resignation is effective at the end of the day on December 31, 2022.

In his letter to Kendall, Molinaro said his tenure as county executive “has been the opportunity of a lifetime, working alongside some 1,800 dedicated men and women who comprise our county workforce.”

Deputy County Executive William O’Neil will assume the role of county executive until the general election in 2023.
