One arrested, one wanted in connection with Saugerties assault

SAUGERTIES – Police in Saugerties have arrested one man and have a warrant out for the arrest of another in connection with an assault at Rust Free Motors at 2 Simmons Drive in Barclay Manor.

Police said the incident occurred at 4 p.m. on December 6.

The two alleged perpetrators, 30-year-old Joseph Wilson of Saugerties and 28-year-old Robert Nuzzo of Lake Katrine had fled the scene before officers arrived.

Investigation involving witness interviews and video evidence, established that Wilson entered the business and initiated interaction with employees that provided opportunity to for Nuzzo to choke one of the victims, compromising his ability to breath.

Both victims were treated at the scene b paramedics from Diaz ambulance.

On December 19, police located Wilson who was arrested on a conspiracy charge. He was processed and released on a police appearance ticket.

Nuzzo has fled the area and is believed to have left the state, police said.

On December 12, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
