POUGHKEEPSIE – Two Poughkeepsie residents are facing felony charges following a midday burglary on Wednesday after police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 11:52 a.m. on Ivy Terrace.

Responding patrol officers and detectives arrived in the area and began an investigation.  A patrol officer located a vehicle of interest in the investigation in the vicinity and moments later the same officer observed two subjects, one male and one female, climbing out of a rear window of another residence in the neighborhood.  The subjects fled on foot and the officers pursued them, resulting in one of the subjects being captured shortly after attempting to escape.

With several City of Poughkeepsie police and deputies from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office in the area, a perimeter was established in an attempt to locate the second subject.  Officers canvassed the area, located the suspect, and took the person into custody, according to Detective Sergeant Sean Fitzgerald.

Cheyanne Pyatt-Brown, 21, and her male counterpart, 18-year-old Jacquez Davis-Brown are each being charged with two felony counts of burglary.  Pyatt-Brown is also being charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property.  Both subjects are being held at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Headquarters pending arraignment.
