UNION VALE – Four-year-old Delaney Krings of Wisconsin is suffering from terminal brain cancer.  Delaney, who turns five on Friday, was unable to participate in her Make-A-Wish trip due to an infection, and people across the country have tried to brighten her spirits for the holidays.

Once Delaney’s plight went public, a family friend of theirs made an appeal for people to send the child holiday cards.

A member of the Union Vale Fire Department decided to get involved in what turned out to be an enormous parade of lights in Dutchess County for the benefit of Delaney, all the way across the country.

Working with Tim and Grace Gay, holders of the Guinness Record for most holiday lights, nearly 700,000, the Union Vale Fire Department reached out to other area fire departments to arrange for a parade through the Gay’s display at their house, known as the ERDJAT light show, named after their children Emily, Raejean, Daniel Arthur and, John Timothy.

With over two dozen agencies and multiple vehicles from a few who wished to participate, the parade took place on December 12, 2022.

One of Delaney’s favorite movies is Disney’s Frozen, so the song, Let It Go, was dedicated to Delaney with Emily Gay creating a voiceover for the video created by Marist College student Nicole Vawter.
