HYDE PARK – The Dutchess County Drug Task Force arrested a 28-year-old woman on felony drug charges on Tuesday after executing a search warrant at a Hyde Park motel on Route 9.  Alexus Lemmon was found in possession of methamphetamines and cocaine when task force agents raided the hotel room.

Lemmon was arraigned on two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Task force agents executed a search warrant after an ongoing narcotics investigation into dangerous drug sales at a motel on Albany Post Road in the Town of Hyde Park resulting in the seizure of several ounces of
methamphetamine and several ounces of cocaine along with packaging material for distribution.

Lemmon was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati praised the task force, saying “Those individuals who choose to sell dangerous drugs in our communities will be held accountable by the Drug Task Force and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. Drug Task Force Agents work hard to investigate narcotics-related offenses and this arrest is a good example of that.”

Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant Adam Harris asked for the continued support of the public in identifying drug dealers.  “The Drug Task Force urges anyone with information regarding drug dealers to contact us,” he said, adding “The public’s assistance with identifying these individuals is greatly appreciated and arrests like this one is another example of the community reaching out to law enforcement for assistance and agents conducting a thorough investigation.”

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force was assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the Town of Hyde Park Police, and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
