GOSHEN –   The Orange County Legislature, Thursday, gave its final approval to the 2023 county budget of $897.6 million.

The spending plan is “innovative and fiscally responsible and benefits our residents with the lowest tax rate in 46 years,” said Legislature Chairwoman Katie Bonelli. “We will continue to find innovative ways to strengthen Orange County’s finances.”

County Executive Steven Neuhaus said his administration “will continue to do more with less, which is a result of our dedicated and skilled county workforce and our management team.”

The budget will use none of the county’s unassigned general fund balance in the new year, compared to $9.9 million in 2022 and $13.8 million in 2021.
