Monroe man charged with rape of minor over several years

MONROE – Police have arrested a 19-year-old Monroe man on a felony charge of rape in connection with sexual assaults of an underage person that occurred over several years.

State Police and Monroe Village Police also charged Jon Pelcin with unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation revealed that the incidents allegedly occurred in various locations throughout the Hudson Valley and New Jersey.

Pelcin, who was arrested on Tuesday, November 29, was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $45,000 bond.

The arrest involved a multi-jurisdictional investigation by Monroe Village Police, New York State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Orange County Child Advocacy Center, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the Ocean County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office, and the Long Beach, New Jersey Police Department.
