MID-HUDSON – Black Friday marks the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season and retailers are hoping today will bring back the crowds just like before the pandemic.

If last week was any indication that stores will be busy, they were bustling with shoppers.

In recent years, Black Friday has been followed by Shop Local Saturday when local merchants invite residents to visit their shops.

In-store shopping has been impacted for several years by internet sales and next Monday has been dubbed Cyber Monday when people return to their computers after the Thanksgiving weekend and start buying holiday gifts online.
