Teen indicted for shooting 15-year-old

WHITE PLAINS – A 19-year-old Yonkers resident has been indicted by a Westchester County grand jury on charges in connection with the October 2022 shooting of a 15-year-old Yonkers boy.

Joseph Tejera is charged with the felonies of attempted murder, two counts of assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

On October 26, 2022 at about 10:22 p.m., Tejera allegedly fired three shots at the victim, striking him twice while on Woodworth Avenue in Yonkers.

The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he underwent emergency medical treatment.

The Yonkers Police Department arrested Tejera in the Bronx on November 22. He is being held without bail, said District Attorney Miriam Rocah.
